Sunny Ajanaku

Besides being a Solutions Architect at JT, I am responsible for a team of Technical Consultants and Architects who provide consultancy services to JT’s customers across various technology areas including Connectivity, Cyber Security, Infrastructure/Cloud and Unified Communication and Collaboration. The team also provides technical leadership on products and services around these technologies, building up on backbone services designed by JT’s Core Technical Services business division. 

Challenging work, an excellent environment for personal development and probably the most popular view from most JT employees, is the great family virtue. Apart from this true sense of belonging in the JT family, there is also the extension towards the utopian balance between work and family life.

You will be exposed to some of the most interesting technology in the industry while being surrounded by brilliant minds that will inspire anyone with aspirations for high self-esteem.

My career has spanned almost 20 years in the Information Technology industry with my first CCNA dating back to 2001 just after my first university degree and 3 years after CCNA was developed by Cisco – a lot has happened since then… 

Early projects in my career were in Nigeria’s Niger-Delta region where endearing IT projects were delivered in challenging environments with extremely limited resources. I believe these early experiences helped shape a reasonable astuteness in my decision-making even with more forgivable financial constraints and comparatively affluent resources.

I moved to Guernsey in 2008 continuing my IT career and eventually joining JT in 2013 as a Network Design Consultant.

My advice is simple  - understand JT’s vision and ‘direction of travel’. Although based in the Channel Islands, JT is a global company with a surprisingly far reach. This can only be understood through personal research into the company.

And while this will certainly sound like a cliché, be at ease and be yourself.
